Riccardo Scamarcio at the Napoli Film Festival

Riccardo Scamarcio will be the protagonist of the first "close encounter" of the Naples Film Festival 2010. The actor will meet the public at the auditorium of Castel Sant' Elmo Sunday, in a conversation conducted by journalist Fabrizio Corallo, which retrace the steps of his prolific and varied career before the screening of Texas.

Born in Trani in '79, after graduating from the Experimental Centre of Cinematography, Scamarcio debut in theater before moving to TV series with Compagni di scuola in 2001. Big screen debut two years later, directed by Marco Tullio Giordana La meglio Gioventu''. But thanks to Tre metri sopra il cielo (2004) Scamarcio became an idol of teen-agers and earning the Golden Globe for best actor debut.

On the set of the movie Texas , which earned him a nomination for the Silver Ribbon for Best Supporting Actor, Scamarcio knows Valeria Golino, whit her will born a partnership not ony sentimental but also artistic. The two have in fact recently also founded a production company, Buena Onda, which together with Pasta Garofalo, produced the directorial debut of Golino, the short Armandino e il Madre, set in Naples.

This year he was the star of the latest film by Ferzan Ozpetek, Mine Vaganti, in which he plays the role of a homosexual, proving once again to know how to appreciate even in roles away from his image as a "beautiful and damned."
