30-year-old Goran lives in a small town in Bosnia. Unlike his friends, Goran came out of the war virtually unscathed. He lives on an inheritance from his parents and drinks his days away with his friends. One day, all his friends are killed in a bar brawl. The incident completely knocks Goran out of his routine life, and he decides to sell all his belongings and start doing something memorable. So he decides to travel from town to town, staying a day in each town, and giving away free drinks to the inhabitants, until he spends all the money he made from selling his possessions. After a few days on the road, in one of the towns he meets a girl and immediately falls in love. This lead him to break his own word and stays a second day in the town...

"Cover-boy" is the story of the friendship between Ioan and Michele, respectively Romanian and Italian. The serendipitous encounter of two worlds apart: the travails of a young man, son of the Post-Communist Revolution, who flees his country in search of a better future and the travails of another youth who instead scrapes along the margins of a Western society that is unable to offer gainful employment to so much of its youth. In the background of this rapport between a simple Romanian youth and his marginalized Italian counterpart, there is a West which on one side is still reeling from the collapse of the Communist ideology and on the other, in the clutches of a Capitalist myth which has increasingly assumed, as it propulsive force, harsh competitiveness and an intensification of social inequality.

A comedy with dramatic moments and an optimistic disposition, a humorous “reply” to the Turkish “friendship attacks” of our days.

This is the story of a strange, impossible, inexplicable love between a Turkish woman and a Bulgarian man. Ivan is a pure and romantic young fellow, who gets caught up in the socalled "regeneration process". He is responsible for the official seals, which are required to issue the new identity documents after the forced name changes. The schoolteacher Ayten tries to steal the seals, thinking that this way she can slow down the ethnic genocide. Their unexpected and unusual meeting brings these two characters together and makes them feel close, forcing Ivan to take a fateful decision - he must either "rename" Ayten, or face the consequences if he does not. They gradually overcome their animosity, accept their differences and draw towards each other. But will the people around them accept their choice? Happy endings are a rarity in the Balkans.

Chersogno is a small village in the western Italian Alps. The settlement is kept alive by a few elderly inhabitants and a fleeting summer tourist industry. A French shepherd arrives in the village, accompanied by his young family, his goats and the paraphernalia of his cheese-making business. The townsfolk welcome him warmly, though not with open arms, and it seems that his arrival may herald a possible new beginning for the village. However as time goes on, living conditions in the become harder, misunderstandings occur, attitudes harden and the seed of
jealously is planted. Some of the inhabitants begin to feel this new presence is just a little to intrusive, and a series of events lead the village to split in two.
