Brief synopsis:
Elisabeth is an actress who, during Elettra's performance, suddenly stops acting, taken by an irresistible urge to laugh. Later she falls into complete muteness, which forces her to be admitted to a psychiatric facility. Here the doctors find no problem in Elisabeth's body, noting that her isolation is a conscious choice. She is thus joined by a talkative nurse, Alma, and together with her the actress goes to her house by the sea, to spend a period of rest. The young Alma takes care of the woman, trying to lift her from her passivity and at the same time identifies more and more with her and with her malaise. On the background of a lonely beach, the existential dramas of the two characters merge, leaving emerge with violence, confusion, doubts and fragility.
