Athens, Plato's Academy district. A quiet crossroads with three tobacco stores and a dog. Stavros owns one of the stores. His wife has left him and refuses to come back; his mother has had a stroke and he must take care of her round the clock. The three tobacconists' favourite hobby is counting the Chinese, who are setting up their shop across the street. They only stop counting if an Albanian walks past. Then, they bet on whether the dog will bark at the him or not. This is their second favourite hobby.
Formia is a small town, a narrow strip of land squeezed between the sea and the mountains. Formia is only walkable in two directions: forward and backward. Thus the lives of four young characters: the space in which they can move is restricted, the prospects are limited.
