Ulrich Seidl was born in Vienna on November 24, 1952. Strong personality, Seidl acts on reality by displacing those who try to define his cinema: documentary and fiction mix seamlessly. His work marked indelebly the recent generation of Austrian documentarists. Among the first documentaries are Good News (1990), Animal Love (1996) and Models (1998). International fame comes in 2001 with Canicola, who receives the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. The latest works are the trilogy: Paradise: Love (2012), Paradise: Faith (2012), Paradise: Hope (2013) and In the Basement (2014) .
