Paolo Genovese was born in Rome in 1966 and began his career as an advertiser. After shooting numerous successful commercials, together with Luca Miniero in 2002 he shot the film A Neapolitan Spell, which won a David di Donatello and two Globi d'Oro, and Sorry you can’t get through (2005). Always with Miniero he realizes Viaggio in Italia - Una favola vera (2007), broadcast in episodes in the tv show Ballarò, and the tv series Amiche mie. Alone shot in 2010 The Santa Claus Gang and the following year The Immature. In 2012 the sequel, Immaturi - Il viaggio and Una famiglia perfetta. After Blame Freud and Ever been on the moon?, directs Perfect strangers, a success both in Italy and abroad, to the point of receiving many requests for the rights in order to make remakes from the movie. The film won two David di Donatello (best screenplay and best director) and the award at the Tribeca Film Festival for the screenplay. In 2017 he shot The Place, a film adaptation of the American tv series The Booth at the End.
