Brief synopsis:
Lorenz Meran, forty, gay and a successful author, has acute writer's block. Now he must leave Berlin and return to Eastern Switzerland where his elderly mother Rosie has ended up in hospital after a fall. He finds himself stuck in the backwaters of his hometown of Altstätten, having to face the fact that the joyful Rosie refuses to accept any help or go to a rest home. Amidst the chaos of Rosie's battle to preserve her independence and dignity, the family feuds and long-held secrets, Lorenz almost fails to notice that love is knocking at his door.
