This is the story of a strange, impossible, inexplicable love between a Turkish woman and a Bulgarian man. Ivan is a pure and romantic young fellow, who gets caught up in the socalled "regeneration process". He is responsible for the official seals, which are required to issue the new identity documents after the forced name changes. The schoolteacher Ayten tries to steal the seals, thinking that this way she can slow down the ethnic genocide.
The National Theatre’s dancers and choreographer arrange a “Guemilere” in honour of a Pagan Saint and learn the art of the community’s anonymous artists. The dances are fragmented by the theatrical representation.
The Gaza Strip. An inexplicable event has occurred during the night: dozens of manta rays are stranded on the main beach of Gaza City. All along the Strip fishermen rush with their barrows to grab the fresh seafood. Meanwhile, the city wakes up. Antar urges his brother to get up. This is the big day – this afternoon he will cut his first record. Noor gets her makeup done; she's about to go in front of the cameras. Jabber is already in the field. The sound of gunfire reminds him that he lives in the buffer zone between Gaza and Israel.
