Synopsis
Two angels come down to earth. They travel over sea, mountain and desert to arrive at a deeply symbolic site: Al Khazneh at Petra in Jordan. Here they pick a rose and must sacrifice themselves to complete their task and become statues, while their immortal souls wander in a city swept by wind and sand, until in the desolation they find the sacrifice accomplished and their souls can finally be freed.

Synopsis

Stanley Donen was born in Columbia, South Carolina on April 13, 1924. As a dancer is also hired by Metro Goldwin Mayer as choreographer for the movie Cover Girl in 1944 along with Gene Kelly with whom he will have several collaborations.
Specialist in musical comedies, and he signed a brilliant series in the 1950s, almost always collaborating with dancer, choreographer and director Gene Kelly. With him he directed: On the Town in 1949 (first musical out in the open) and sees among the stars Frank Sinatra, and Singing in the Rain (1952).

Giulio is a boy who is unable to forget his first love, the beautiful and independent Aurora. Aurora decides to leave her Sicilian village and go to work in Rome, thus creating an irreparable fracture in their relationship. Much later, still in love with her, Giulio arrives in Rome with the intention of tracking her down. He goes to stay at the house of a couple who are friends of the family: Rosalia and Eugenio.

Italia 2009. What good is freedom without justice?
In San Giovanni in Teduccio on the eastern outskirts of Naples, the sea is not visible, being masked by miles and miles of buildings. To get there you have to travel a road that winds through the the old industrial area and the carcasses of the abandoned factories. Eventually you will reach Vigliena, a beach close to the power station. Entry is prohibited to the state owned land and fishing is prohibited. Three former smugglers spend their time in this place. Together, like rats smiling and careless after the apocalypse, they build a boat.
