Rich Austrian and German tourists knock down zebras and giraffes in the reserves on the border between Namibia and South Africa. The director follows hunts and records voices and reflections of his protagonists: the sense of hunting, the relationship with Africa, economy, life and death. The direct and precise style typical of Seidl, does not spare the viewer any detail of the world that is shown, showing mercilessly grotesque grains. Safari is not a film about hunting, nor a documentary of denunciation, but an uncensored narration of reality, a story that becomes lucid and tragic and in which the very act of showing without any censorship becomes a precise stylistic choice charged with meaning.
